Dr. Steven M. Morgano DMD Dr. Steven M. Morgano has been appointed Chief Academic Officer and Chief Executive Officer at Boston University Institute of Dental Research and Education (BUIDRE), effective December 10, 2008. Dr. Morgano received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1976. He completed a general practice residency program at Philadelphia General Hospital in 1977, and received his specialty certificate in prosthodontics from the Hines Veterans Affairs Medical Center a year later. In 1984, Dr. Morgano became a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Morgano is Professor of Restorative Sciences and Biomaterials and served as Director of the Division of Postdoctoral Prosthodontics at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, the largest postdoctoral prosthodontic program in the US, since 1996. He is on a leave of absence form the Goldman School of Dental Medicine to serve in his capacity at BUIDRE. He is a fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics, the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics. He is former Chair of the Tylman Research Committee of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Academy. Dr. Morgano is a member of the Editorial Review Board of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and serves as a site visitor for the Commission on Dental Accreditation for the accreditation of US prosthodontic specialty programs. Dr. Morgano has lectured throughout the US, and internationally in 13 different countries. He has published over 55 articles in the refereed dental literature, and is associate editor and contributing author (8 chapters out of 26) of Tylman’s Theory and Practice of Fixed Prosthodontics, ed. 8. |
