Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program (to be offered in 2011)

The program includes a research project and successful completion of the five-year program will result in a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

  • The OMFS residency program trains dentists in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including trauma, pathology, esthetic surgery, orthognathics, Implantology, reconstruction, cleft lip and palate, anesthesia, and dentoalveolar surgery.


  • Residents also rotate through other surgical specialties such as oncology, neurosurgery, critical care, general surgery, medicine, infectious disease, cardiothoracic surgery, and emergency care.


  • The program provides complete didactic courses in pathology, anesthesia, anatomy, pharmacology, microbi8ology, TMJ, Implantology, orthognathic/orthodontics, physical diagnosis, and pathophysiology, with emphasis on research findings in the basic sciences and clinical areas of OMFS.

  • As a resident, you will be exposed to an unparalleled breadth of experience. You will rotate among two locations: the Institute's clinic which offers and environment akin to a private practice; and the Dubai Healthcare City Teaching Hospital.
