Orthodontics

The program includes a research project and successful completion of a three-year program will result in a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics as well as a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

  • The advanced training program in orthodontics will teach you to treat the full range of orthodontic problems in adults and children. Our curriculum emphasizes craniofacial growth and development, cephalometrics, biomechanics, occlusion, and neuron-muscular physiology.

  • You will learn several clinical orthodontic approaches with emphasis on the bi-dimensional and tip-edge techniques.

  • Our goal is to have our first-year students treating patients as soon as possible. For this reason, we have developed a unique team approach to patient care. Each first-year student is teamed with a second-year student. The first year students are assigned their own patients and also participate in the care of their teammates' patients. This results in early exposure to patient care and an abundance and variety of clinical experiences; it also allows the second-year student to develop mentorship skills.
